Oklahoma City, OK – November 21, 2008 – Earlier this year, the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) announced the development of the very first NRHA European Futurity in response to the International explosion in the Reining arena. Due to an unforeseen scheduling and facility conflict, the inaugural event has been postponed from March 2009 until 2010. Event organizers and NRHA Staff will meet during the 2008 NRHA Futurity & Adequan® North American Championship Show to discuss rescheduling options for 2010.
The NRHA European Futurity will be “Open to the World” and will showcase four-year-old reining horses and riders competing for close to half a million dollars in prize money. It will host a full slate of Open and Non Pro competition. The show will be NRHA-approved and run under NRHA rules. Additional information including new dates, location, entry information and more will be posted on www.NRHA.com as soon as it is available.
“The NRHA European Futurity is a much needed event to solidify Reining’s expansion abroad. It is our intention to create a world-class competition providing exhibitors and spectators with a memorable and enjoyable event. We feel it is in our best interest to postpone the inaugural Futurity until we can rectify the conflicts that have arisen over the last few weeks,” said Dan Wall NRHA Executive Director.
