10.24.08 - New Level of NRHA Futurity Sponsorship Announced

Oklahoma City, OK – October 24, 2008 – The National Reining Horse Association is introducing a new level of sponsorship to start with the upcoming 2008 NRHA Futurity & Adequan® North American Affiliate Championship Show. This new program allows any Reining enthusiast the opportunity to support the Sport and help provide more prizes to competitors through NRHA Futurity Reserve Champion Buckle Sponsorship Program.

This program supports NRHA’s goal of expanding awards offered by offering a new award at the NRHA Futurity – a Reserve Champion Trophy Buckle, created by Gist Silversmiths, in eight divisions of the Futurity. The sponsorship program allows ranches, businesses and horsemen to sponsor a Reserve Champion Trophy Buckle starting with this year’s show.

Quality awards mean a great deal to both exhibitors and owners. NRHA recognizes the need for these awards and is working toward this goal - starting with this new buckle sponsorship program. However, it is only with the support of the Reining enthusiasts that competitors can be given high quality prizes on a continual basis. NRHA hopes this sponsorship program will open doors for more Reining enthusiasts to support such a prestigious event and the Sport that they love.

The NRHA Futurity purse exceeds $1.4 Million, and draws 1,800 horses, 4,000 exhibitors, 70,000 spectators and dozens of trade show vendors. These Reining fans come from across the United States and nearly 20 countries to compete and watch the excitement unfold. This is truly the Reining highlight of the year and a wonderful opportunity to become involved in Reining on an International level.

Only eight divisions are available for sponsorship, so don’t delay in making the $750 contribution to the NRHA Futurity Reserve Champion Buckle Sponsorship Program. Available divisions, a detailed list of sponsor benefits and a sponsorship form can be found on the 2008 NRHA Futurity & Adequan® North American Affiliate Championship Show page at http://www.nrha.com.

The National Reining Horse Association, with its international headquarters in Oklahoma City, recognizes and promotes the heart-stopping action known as the sport of Reining. The western form of riding is one of the fastest-growing disciplines in the world and showcases its best athletes during the NRHA Futurity & Adequan® North American Affiliate Championship Show. The show features other exciting events such as the 4R Performance Horses Celebrity Slide benefiting Make-A-Wish of Oklahoma, FEI World Reining Masters, Invitational Freestyle, three NRHA/Markel horse sales and a Stacy Westfall clinic.

A family of corporate partners makes this major international reining event possible. Those sponsors include: Adequan®, Century Investment Group, Cimarron Trailers, Classic Equine, C.R. Morrison, Kiser Arena Specialists, Land O’ Lakes/Purina Mills LLC, Markel Insurance Company, MD Barns, Oklahoma City Convention and Visitors Bureau, Pard’s Western Shop, Performance Horse, Platinum Performance, Quarter Horse News, Rios of Mercedes/Anderson Bean Boot Company, Rocky Mountain Clothing Company and SmartPak.
