Oklahoma City, OK – April 9, 2008 – Exciting news from the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA)! Nominations into the 2008 NRHA Futurity, November 27-December 6, at the Oklahoma State Fair Park in Oklahoma City, OK, have reached an all-time high. To date, there have been 837 nominations. That’s compared to 527 for the same time last year resulting in a 59% increase.
NRHA Executive Director Dan Wall says this kind of increase is unprecedented. “Given the economy and the general trends in the industry this type of increase is staggering. Not only is this a huge increase over the same time period as last year but this increase has surpassed the highest total number of nominations we’ve ever had.”
Nomination fees into the 2008 Futurity are payable over six installments with the final payment due on or before October 1, 2008. It’s not too late to enter, although late nominations will face certain fees.
The NRHA Futurity & Adequan® North American Affiliate Championship Show is the world’s premiere reining horse event bringing more than 2,000 exhibitors from around the world to compete. In 2007, the NRHA offered a total purse of close to $1.5 million with the Open Futurity champion receiving a guaranteed check for $125,000.
