Oklahoma City, OK – March 11, 2008 – The power of the internet has helped expose the sport of Reining to more than one million people around the world in just one week! Those who have seen her know that NRHA Freestyle competitor Stacy Westfall has the ability to captivate an audience with her bareback and bridleless freestyle reining. Now, Westfall has been invited to demonstrate her amazing art of horsemanship to a worldwide television audience on “The Ellen Degeneres Show.”
It all started with an email that was sent around the globe featuring Westfall’s winning Freestyle run on Whizards Baby Doll, also known as Roxy, at the 2006 All-American Quarter Horse Congress. Westfall’s husband, Jesse, said in one week they had more than one million hits on their website and since then, they’ve received 200,000 to 300,000 hits a day. “We had just launched our new website and it kept crashing! Then we called our website designer and discovered the incredible number of people that had been visiting because they had watched the video that was being passed around.”
One of those emails just so happened to land in talk show host Ellen Degeneres’ inbox. Producers from the show contacted Stacy and then aired that bareback and bridleless routine during the February 28th show. Stacy and Whizards Baby Doll will now appear on the show in person! Jesse said, “It’s fantastic. We’re very excited about the opportunity to expose the sport of Reining to a national television audience.”
The Westfalls’ Burbank tour begins on Wednesday, March 12, when Stacy and a crew from the Degeneres show will videotape her demonstration at the LA Equestrian Center. The actual show featuring Stacy and Whizards Baby Doll will be taped on Thursday, March 13. Viewers can watch the episode this Friday, March 14.
