At the 2006 FEI World Equestrian Games in Aachen, Germany, McQuay turned out a breathtaking and stunning performance. For his second round, vying for the individual medal, McQuay rode Mister Nicadual to an almost perfect round. Before the score was announced, McQuay entertained the crowd by dismounting in the show ring and celebrated the exceptional run by performing a jig. When the score of 230 was announced, McQuay added the Individual Silver medal to the Team Gold he had received earlier in the week.
These recent feats only added to an already stunning show record, as McQuay was the first reiner in history to reach the two million dollar mark in NRHA Lifetime Earnings. He is also the recipient of the Becky Grand Hart trophy, presented by the USEF. McQuay is passionate about the sport of Reining, a trendsetter and a celebrity in the reining world.
