World renowned Australian clinician Clinton Anderson will bring his “Downunder Horsemanship” clinic to the 2006 NRHA Futurity & Adequan® North American Affiliate Championship Show. Spectators will watch as Anderson uses his Aussie style to demonstrate groundwork while offering sound advice to spectators. The Clinton Anderson “Downunder Horsemanship” clinic is presented at the Futurity by Horse & Rider Magazine, an education partner with the NRHA.
During the three-hour clinic, Anderson will use a horse with little or no training at all to demonstrate the training secrets he uses to prepare a horse to ride. At the end of the clinic, Anderson will have trained the horse to a point where he can saddle and even ride it. Those who’ve attended the “Downunder Horsemanship” clinic across the country say it’s fascinating to see his unique techniques put to work.
Anderson will be joined by the National Reining Horse Association’s (NRHA) newest Million Dollar Rider and past NRHA Futurity Champion Andrea Fappani. Fappani will demonstrate the fundamentals of training and showing a reining horse.
The “Downunder Horsemanship” clinic will be held Saturday, December 2 from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm in Arena 6 of the Oklahoma State Fair Park. Youth members 17 years old and younger are given free admission to the clinic by showing their membership card or wearing clothing showing their affiliation to a youth organization. Tickets to the clinic cost $28.00, but that gets you in to see a whole day of action at the 2006 NRHA Futurity & Adequan® North American Affiliate Championship Show. The highlight of the Saturday evening competition is the Open Futurity Finals where one rider will go home with a check for $125,000.
Tickets are available through the Oklahoma State Fair Box Office by calling (405) 948-6827.
Anderson will be on hand to sign autographs at the NRHA booth immediately following the clinic.
