11.16.06 - Official Photographer and Videographer Chosen for 2006 NRHA Futurity

The National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) is pleased to announce that the official photographer and official videographer have been chosen for the 2006 NRHA Futurity & Adequan® North American Affiliate Championship Show. Waltenberry, Inc., will be returning to the Futurity as the Official Event Photographer. Dan Wall, NRHA Executive Director says, “We definitely wanted the Waltenberrys to return to the Futurity as the official photographers. It wouldn’t be the same without their unique eye for impressive Reining photos.”

The Waltenberrys bring 30 years of experience to the 2006 NRHA Futurity. In addition to still photography, they began videotaping Quarter Horse shows 20 years ago. They’ve served as the official show videographer at the AQHA World Championship Show for four years and the All American Quarter Horse Congress for 17. The Waltenberrys started videotaping the NRHA Derby and Futurity about 19 years ago.

In an effort to scale back their workload, Dick and Barb Waltenberry decided not to take on videography of the 2006 NRHA Futurity & Adequan® North American Affiliate Championship Show. So the NRHA reluctantly searched for a new videographer to capture all the Show’s Reining action.

The NRHA is pleased to welcome Mustang Productions as the Official Videographer of the 2006 NRHA Futurity & Adequan® North American Affiliate Championship Show. Mustang Productions has been serving the horse industry with innovative and creative video since 1995. Mustang Productions photographers have worked with the Waltenberrys in the past so the NRHA felt confident Mustang Productions could provide quality video from the events at the Futurity.

Mustang Productions has been the Official Show Videographer for the Appaloosa Horse Club World Championships and Nationals since 2000. Mustang is also the videographer for the Southwest Reined Cow Horse Association shows including their Futurities and Derbies. Mustang Productions’ chief videographer along with company owner, Juli Mohan, both have had many years of experience behind the camera for numerous NRHA events including the NRHA Derby and Futurity as well as many AQHA World Championship Shows.

During the Futurity Show, Mustang Productions will provide live-stream video of the Reining competition on its website. NRHA will provide a link to Mustang Productions on www.nrha.com.

The NRHA has negotiated a new copyright agreement with both Waltenberry, Inc. and Mustang Productions. This new agreement will grant the NRHA the rights to use the work product for the purpose of self-promotion and limited reproduction excluding resale of the works. Waltenberry and Mustang retain the rights for sales of their NRHA Futurity works.

Look for Mustang Productions in Room 6 on the West Concourse of the Oklahoma State Fair Coliseum and the Waltenberrys will be located on the East Concourse near the north end of the arena.
