Reining enthusiasts are heading to Las Vegas, Nevada, for their annual NRHA Convention slated for February 15th – 18th. The 2006 NRHA Convention will be held at the brand new and spectacular South Coast Hotel & Casino. Along with the first class accommodations, restaurants, gaming and entertainment amenities, the South Coast also features a complete Equestrian Complex.
The South Coast Equestrian Complex will soon be known as one of the finest indoor horse facilities in the country. With a 4,400 seat arena and 1,200 climate controlled stalls, the South Coast Equestrian Center will host some of the most prestigious equestrian events in the world. The Equestrian Center features a 250’ x 125’ show arena, an overlooking bar and includes 80,000 square feet of exhibit space as well as 20,000 square feet of meeting and pre-function space.
The South Coast Hotel & Casino, with its Silverado Steakhouse, Don Vito’s Italian & Seafood Restaurant, 64-lane bowling alley, 600-seat Bingo Room, Kid’s Tyme Child Care and 16-screen Movie Theatre, will be the perfect place for reiners to meet, relax and enjoy each other’s company!
The schedule for the 2006 NRHA Convention includes a “Straight From the Horse’s Mouth” Show Management Seminar and a Golf Outing to get things rolling on Wednesday, February 15th. Judges, Professionals and Non Pro forums, as well as the Affiliate Congress and a 2006 & 2010 WEG Presentation are also on the agenda. The International Committee, Reining Horse Sports Foundation (RHSF) and the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) will all conduct meetings. There will be an Open Forum that will include NRHA Committee Reports. An Adequan® Veterinary Panel Discussion on Degenerative Joint Disease will include Allyn Mann and Torri Maxwell from Adequan® along with Alan Donnell, DVM and Joe Carter, DVM. Attending Youth will enjoy a Youth Social with Bowling and Pizza and a Sight-Seeing trip. There’ll be something for everyone!
Special “meet and greet” activities on the agenda include a Welcome Breakfast and the Oklahoma City Convention & Visitors Bureau Reception on Thursday, February 16th. On Friday, February 17th, the Hall of Fame and South Coast Reception will take place.
The 2006 Convention will close with NRHA’s annual Awards Banquet, which will recognize, among others, the 2005 World Champions and honor the accomplishments of Top 20 Professionals, Top 20 Owners, breeders and Youth competitors. In addition, Rocky Dare and Doug Milholland will officially be inducted into the NRHA Hall of Fame. The Reining Horse Sports Foundation will also conduct their “not-to-be-missed” Silent Auction in conjunction with the Awards Banquet. It’s a chance to bid on some great items and help support RHSF’s many worthwhile programs.
