Presented by Fort Dodge, the championships will premier at 4 p.m. Eastern/1 p.m. Pacific, Sunday, Jan. 8, on NBC Sports Television. This one-hour special is based at the AQHA World Championship Show in Oklahoma City.
One of the most popular events at the show – Senior Reining – was held Nov. 19, and featured horses aged 6 years and older. Reining’s top horses and riders competed for a prize purse of $46, 976 with the Senior Reining Champion riding away with a $9,392.99 check plus a wide variety of other prizes. Watch riders such as Todd Crawford, Shawn Flarida, Todd Bergen and Matt Mills compete for bragging rights at the 2005 Senior Reining Ford/AQHA World Champion.
Cutting – another popular event – will feature the junior competition for horses aged 5 years and younger. The program will include sport announcer Tim Ryan, former jockey-turned reporter Donna Brothers and AQHA Professional Horseman Robbie Boyce.
