The two qualifying go rounds of the $50,000 added Cinch NRHA Non Pro Futurity are history and the finalists competing on Friday are no longer a mystery. Twenty-five riders, including ties, advance to the Non Pro Finals and fifteen riders, plus ties, advance to the Intermediate Non Pro Finals. The winner of the Non Pro Division is guaranteed $35,000. Mandy McCutcheon, with a composite of 430.5 is at the head of the class on Rawhides Banjo (Dunit Rawhide x Barb A Cita), owned by her dad, Tim McQuay. Mandy is followed by Quincy Cahill Allen riding The Dualster (Mister Dual Pep x Nicacheka), owned by Quincy and her husband Devin.
Bernie Paetzel has remained in the hunt since day #1. Bernie is riding his Toriana Dun It (Mr Tori Kid x Dunits Reining Heir) and with a composite of 428 is heading to the Finals with confidence. After the two go rounds, Nelle Murphy and Ginger Schmersal both finished with a composite of 427. Nelle is riding her KR Scoot N Slide (Tejons Peppy Doc x Scootin Little Lady) and Ginger is riding Blazing In Black (Rowdy Yankee x Topsail Blaze), which she and her husband Craig own.
Bernie and Toriana Dun It are leading the Intermediate Non Pro Division’s composite standings, with Nelle Murphy and KR Scoot N Slide sitting second. Kyle Johnson and his Reeboks Rerun (Reeboks Kid x Workmans Fisty) are in third place heading to the clean-slate finals followed by Charlie Wiederholt riding Smokin Rooster (Gallo Del Cielo x Mahoganys Smoke), owned by Charles and Cheryl Wiederholt. Matt Armenta and his Sweet Magnum Dream (Magnum Chic Dream x JS Sweet N Low) round out the top five of the Cinch NRHA Non Pro Futurity’s 2005 finalists!
The winner of the Cinch NRHA Non Pro Futurity’s Limited Non Pro Division is determined by the two-go-round composite score. The Champion, Kyle Johnson will be heading home to Portland, Connecticut, $5,000 richer for his composite of 426.5 earned on Reeboks Rerun. Matt Armenta finished second on Sweet Magnum Dream and third on his Smarty Montana (Hesa Smart Chic x Montanas Playgirl). Matt earned just under $4,000 for his efforts. There was a tie for fourth between ICR Topp Sailor (ICR Sailor x Pavos Peppy Topps), owned and shown by Sandy K. Day, and Imacockadoodledude (Gallo Del Cielo x Taris Velvet), owned by Robert Locatelli and ridden by Kristi Locatelli.
In the NRHA Non Pro Gelding Incentive, Quincy Cahill Allen riding The Dualster earned the championship title, while Kyle Johnson aboard Reeboks Rerun was second.

The North American Affiliate Championships and Ancillary classes start today, Wednesday, November 30, after the completion of the NRHA Open Futurity qualifying go rounds. Since this is a milestone Futurity for the NRHA, many special activities and presentations are planned, including the annual Clinton Anderson Clinic to be held on Saturday, December 3rd at 10:00 a.m. There are also three excellent NRHA sales scheduled for Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Each will spotlight the finest bloodlines in the performance horse industry.
