The National Reining Horse Association is gearing up for its 40th NRHA Futurity, which launches the grand celebration in 2006 of the NRHA’s 40th Anniversary in 2006.
In recognition of this celebration, NRHA will launch the sale of a new NRHA buckle by Gist Silversmiths at the 2005 All American Quarter Horse Congress. Congress will be held Oct. 3 through Oct. 23, at the Ohio State Fairgrounds in Columbus, Ohio.
“With the festivities and excitement of our 40th Anniversary, the NRHA Marketing Committee felt it was the right time to launch an NRHA buckle,” said Lisa Garza, NRHA Director of Marketing and Communications. “We’re offering two styles – they are beautiful, and I’m anxious to see many people proudly wearing one.”
Buyers will have the choice between an oval, sterling silver buckle and an oval, silver and gold-plated buckle. Buckles will also be available via the NRHA website at www.nrha.com and at the NRHA Futurity & Adequan® North American Affiliate Championship Show.
“We’re expecting sales to be overwhelming, especially since the proceeds will go to the NRHA Hall of Fame supported by the Reining Horse Sports Foundation, and even more so since the first 40 buckles of each style will have a commemorative number engraved on the back,” said Garza.
Number 40 of each buckle style will be auctioned during the 2005 Futurity Show in Oklahoma City. Number one of each buckle will be sold at auction Feb. 15-18, at the 2006 NRHA Convention in Las Vegas.
All proceeds made from the buckles will go to benefit the NRHA Hall of Fame. The sterling silver buckle is priced at $350 and the silver and gold-plated buckle is priced at $125. For more information, call the marketing department at the NRHA office at 405.946.7400.
