09.16.05 - Adequan® now recognized as “Official Equine Joint Therapy” of the NRHA.

The National Reining Horse Association welcomes Luitpold Pharmaceuticals, Inc. as a new Corporate Partner. Adequan® (POLYSULFATED GLUCOSAMINOGLYCAN), their flagship product, will now be recognized as the “Official Equine Joint Therapy” of the NRHA.

“We are pleased to announce our new Corporate Partnership with Adequan® and Luitpold Pharmaceuticals,” said Dan Wall, Executive Director of the NRHA. “Adequan® and Luitpold exemplify the type of product and company with which NRHA and our members wish to be associated. Adequan® is not only a great product, but it also has the strength and vision of Luitpold behind it.”

“Luitpold Animal Health is excited to be an official Corporate Partner of the NRHA,” said Allyn Mann, senior manager for animal health for Adequan. “We are honored to be the title sponsor of the Adequan®/NRHA North American Affiliate Championships, as well as being involved in the NRHA Futurity.”

“Luitpold is dedicated to increasing the level of awareness and to educating horsemen on the causes of DJD and the possible treatment regimens available,” said Wall. “In addition, they are committed to providing the very best in customer support to all NRHA members.” Toward that end, Luitpold Pharmaceuticals’ recently introduced an educational CD titled “Balanced Joints, Sound Horse.” This state-of-the-art computer animation shows how a “balanced” joint functions; how trauma can disrupt the natural cycle of “wear and repair” within the joint: and the choices for treatment. To view “Balanced Joints, Sound Horse” online, go to www.adequan.com, or you can order a CD by calling 1-800-974-9247.

“The North American Affiliate Championship program recognizes competitors at the grassroots level, and Luitpold realizes this group of horse owners wants to succeed as much as the Open Futurity champions,” said Mann. “With a product like Adequan®, our hope is that it will improve the health of all horses to achieve their very best, regardless of the level of competition.”

NRHA will celebrate the association’s 40th Futurity Nov. 24, through Dec. 3, at State Fair Park in Oklahoma City, Okla. Join NRHA at this grand celebration with tributes to NRHA’s Million Dollar Riders and Sires, including Four Million Dollar Sire Hollywood Dun It and past NRHA Futurity champions. Shop at one of the best Western-lifestyle trade shows of the holiday season and enjoy the North American Freestyle Championships along with a night full of entertainment on Friday, Dec. 2. See Australian horseman Clinton Anderson give a phenomenal “Downunder Horsemanship” clinic, accompanied by six-time Futurity Champion and NRHA Hall of Famer, Bob Loomis, who will give a Reining demonstration. The NRHA Futurity & Adequan® North American Affiliate Championship Show will also host an FEI nation’s cup - a world-class international team reining competition on Thursday, Dec.1. This prestigious event will take NRHA another stride toward becoming the next Olympic equestrian event and the first Western discipline to be accepted into Olympic competition. This and much more will take place at NRHA’s 40th Anniversary Futurity celebration! For more information or to purchase tickets, log onto www.nrha.com.
