The second and deciding FEI approved CRI qualifier for this year’s prestigious FEI World Reining Masters Series competition presented by the Arcese Group and the Italian Equestrian Sports Federation (FISE) was held at Moreton Morrell on Friday 26th August as part of the British Reining Summer Show.
Francesca Sternberg riding Just Gotta Shine took first place honours and Doug Allen tied for second place riding Double R Splash and Yelena My Way. Francesca Sternberg riding Smart A Little also placed fourth.
The first qualifier in Britain this year was held at the Garden of England Show in Bodiam, East Sussex in July, where Francesca and Doug also achieved high placings. Their accrued points over both events gave them a clear lead as the two British qualifiers for the Final. For the husband and wife team, this will be the second year that they will represent their country having both qualified and participated in the inaugural FEI World Reining Masters final held in Oklahoma City last year.
British Reining Chairman Bill Archer congratulated Francesca and Doug, saying their qualification was well deserved and that everyone was proud of their achievements. He wished them success in Manerbio on the 24th September where the final of the competition will be held at 9 pm.
Francesca and Doug live in Bodiam, East Sussex and with Francesca’s sister Rosanne they operate their successful Sterling Quarter Horses based in Bodiam and in Aubrey, Texas. Both members of the British team at the World Equestrian Games, Francesca is the current NRHA European Affiliate Non Pro Champion.
