The Reining Horse Sports Foundation (RHSF) recently took an enormous step forward in realizing future plans when they hired Tania Warnock as Manager of the RHSF. Tania took the helm in March. “Hiring Tania is the single most important growth mechanism we can implement for the future of the RHSF,” said Frank Costantini, RHSF President. “We have great expectations of her and her abilities and we are confident that we found the person we needed to take the RHSF to the next level.”
Last spring the Reining Horse Sports Foundation’s Board of Directors embarked upon a strategic decision to strengthen the organization and hire a full-time manager. The ideal candidate would, first and foremost, have experience managing a non-profit organization. It was essential that the candidate be guided by integrity, dedication, vision and passion, and be able to show unequivocally a successful history of development and implementation of comprehensive fund-raising campaigns.
A look at Tania’s resume leaves little doubt that the RHSF Board of Directors accomplished their objective. Having worked three years as the Executive Director of the Autry Technology Center Educational Foundation, Tania has extensive experience in managing not-for-profit organizations. She successfully led a significant fund-raising campaign following a devastating hit to the ATCEF’s corpus when the stock market crashed in 2001. Tania also led the Communications and Marketing Department at Autry Tech, setting annual public relations objectives and implementation practices for the organization, which serves over 10,000 individuals per year.
“I am ready for the challenge that comes with being the Manager of the RHSF,” she said. “The Board of Directors has laid out a clear vision of where they want to be in 2010. I want to take them there.
“My job as RHSF Manager is to keep the foundation running smoothly and efficiently, but also to be the champion for our cause. That means never missing an opportunity to share those compelling stories about what we do for reiners. Once our industry fully understands what it is that we do for them, they will support us in spirit as well as financially,” Tania said. Those goals and dreams include building an endowment of $5 million by 2010 and increasing the Crisis Fund to $250,000. The RHSF will continue their efforts toward the inclusion of Reining in the Olympics and funding the international development of the sport.
Besides being a seasoned non-profit manager, Tania is also a reiner. Since childhood, Tania and her family have traveled the Arabian horse show circuit throughout the northern states. Tania has run the gamut with her performance horses, but confesses that her true love has always been Reining. “I have watched the sport of Reining explode into the mainstream consciousness of people throughout the world, which gives me faith that we have the support system to grow and strengthen this foundation. When you make a donation to the RHSF, you are investing in the future of Reining. The explosion of the sport means the sky is the limit on your returns.”
Tania, and her husband Scott, recently moved to Yukon, Oklahoma, with their two-year old son, Parker. Tania has a baccalaureate degree from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, and a master’s degree from Oklahoma State University.
