Mexico’s first National Reining Champion, Javier Alvarez Malo, won the CRI - Category B held in Mexico aboard Hot Little Line, and has earned his way to Oklahoma City where the first FEI World Reining Masters Finals Presented by NetJets will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2004.

Born in Mexico City in 1954, Javier graduated from Mexico City’s University (UNAM) with a degree in veterinary medicine. He specializes in horses. Alvarez Malo was instrumental in the formation of the Mexican Reining Horse Association in 1992 and in 2000 organized the annual Apapataro Classic, the first national Reining competition in his country. Equine Manager at Rancho Begona, one of the largest full service reining facilities in Mexico, he lives in Queretaro with his wife Iris and their three sons Javier, Marco, and Ivan. Javier is “very pleased” to represent his country in the FEI World Reining Masters Finals, which will be held in conjunction with the NRHA Futurity & Championship Show at Oklahoma State Fair Park in Oklahoma City.
