05.23.02 - Gunner Named 2002 USET Breyer Model Horse

The United States Equestrian Team has announced that Gunner, owned by Debra Sloan and ridden to the 2001 USET Reining Championship by Bryant Pace, has been chosen as the 2002 USET Breyer model horse. Gunner is the seventh Breyer model in the popular USET series.

Gunner was the 1996 NRHA Futurity Reserve Champion, the 1998 National Reining Breeders Classic Reserve Champion, the 2001 USET Champion and, with over $165,000 in winnings, is the second highest money earner in National Reining Horse Association history. In 2002, the popular stallion was brought back from an intended retirement in order to compete in the qualifying events and a chance for a trip to the 2002 World Equestrian Games in Jerez, Spain.

The Breyer Hollywood Dun It sliding stop mold was used to create the Gunner model. The specially designed Gunner horse will be limited to a run of 750. Purchase of this special edition model is limited to two (2) per customer or address. In the past, these models have sold out quickly and become true collectibles for horse enthusiasts. The price is $50.00 per model horse with a $5.00 shipping and handling fee.

Since 1950 when the Breyer Molding Company was first commissioned to produce a horse adorning a mantelpiece clock, Breyer model horses have become more popular than ever. Their realistic appearance and attention to detail make the models ideal treasures to keep for generations.

The Gunner model will first be available for sale at the Bayer/USET Festival of Champions, Presented by State Line Tack, June 20 - 23 at the USET Olympic Training Center in Gladstone, New Jersey. All models remaining after the initial Festival sale will be filled from mail/fax requests in the order in which they were received. If you have any questions or would like a mail/fax request order form, please call the USET Store at (908) 234-1251, ext. 43, or email cowen@uset.org.
